Within the framework of the “Find your INner powER” [FINER] project, The Rural Hub organised two promotional events in October in 2023. The aim of these events was to engage young adult, adult educators, and local community groups in using and testing out the FINER project resources, with an aim of introducing the topics of well-being and resilience to our communities.
To reach enough people with our message about how to nurture self-care and well-being, The Rural Hub hosted two such events in counties Meath and Cavan. The first event took place in the Cavan Institute (Cavan) on the 4th of October 2023, followed by a second event which was held in Dunboyne Castle (Meath) on 12th of October 2023. These events, each lasted for four hours, and were designed to raise awareness about the importance of well-being, particularly in the face of challenges posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. At these events, The Rural Hub showcased each of the main results produced by the FINER project team over the last two years, including the Well-Being E-Book, the Target Finder Toolkit, and the Online 3D Mall platform. Through these events, our objective was clear: to provide young adults, adult educators, and other key stakeholders with access to the tools we have developed to support them to invest in their well-being, as well as their personal and professional growth.
The feedback we received through both events was overwhelmingly positive, and there was a lot of interest in using the FINER resources in the future among all participants. It takes a community to support well-being, and through this event we were able to put the tools needed to foster well-being directly in the hands of our community members.
As we reflect on the “Find your INner powER” multiplier events in Ireland, staff from The Rural Hub feel that by providing access to the right resources, our local community members can each play an active role in building well-being and resilience practices in our local communities.
